This is diluted ownership across time and structure; decisions accumulate through many hands until no single person feels accountable. Committees, legacy systems, and inherited procedures make each step seem reasonable, so the outcome feels like “just how the process works.”
System abstraction reinforces it: we describe failure in abstract system terms instead of concrete decisions. This protects status and reduces personal risk, so it feels professional. “If the system did it, no one did.” Without filters for honesty and accountability, systems promote people who explain outcomes without owning them.
BUT WHY:
This is part of an experiment: we are keeping count of how many scenes it takes before we agree that leaders with real power should prove they are psychologically fit to hold it.
By turning our instincts and hive habits into animals, the project asks why we still let untested nervous systems run entire societies.
In a world where one unstable nervous system can scale to entire institutions, this project treats Reptilocracy as the cartoon diagnosis and points to one concrete step: a public petition for stronger checks, balances, and psychological fitness standards for Australia’s top leaders.
