This week, a leader finally finds his ideal audience after realizing his colleagues have replaced critical thinking with reflexive agreement.

Our belief in human exceptionalism hides the biological limits that drive our failures. We build arks for the loudest deniers, then treat the flood as someone else’s problem.

This week, the cows practice diffusion of responsibility as a team sport: they have successfully turned corporate oversight into a perpetual motion machine of excuses.

This week, we observe the massive divide between those doing the labor and those crafting the narrative of success. The hyena is busy perfecting a slide deck to prove everything is fine, even as the background cows are drowning in a sea of sticky notes and printer jams. One person builds the reality while the other builds the presentation.

This week, our cube-cows throw a full Agile transformation parade through the office (Scrum, Kanban, ceremonies, drums, flags), while the one cow actually working the bug pile just mutters, ‘Still broken.’

When a person cannot register their own reflection, “I caused this” is never an option. Fault lands on everyone else, and silent witnesses become the blank mirrors that sustain the cycle.

The same sentence lands in another mind as a rebuild: they assemble what you meant from their own memories. Shared history makes that rebuild faster, because both of you already know the background. Honest conflict is how that shared picture picks up a new fact. Endless fighting drowns the new fact, and empty small talk never says it.

This week, our cube-cows learn performance improvement is a two-way street: the manager hands over a PIP, and the employee hands one right back: set priorities, give feedback, remove blockers, and stop changing direction.

This week, our cube-cows watch the hyena steal an idea in the hallway and pitch it back in the next meeting, forty minutes later, as his own.
